Longer references for specification and procurement.
These are the longer references, written for the stage where a specification is being assembled or an offer is being assessed rather than for a single technical question. They cover what information an enquiry needs to produce a usable offer, how to read a manufacturer data sheet, and how to compare offers that appear to describe the same cable.
The common thread is that most procurement problems are information problems. An enquiry that states the standard, the installation conditions and the required documentation usually produces an offer that can be compared with others; one that states only a type code produces offers that cannot.
