- IEC 60502 is the usual reference for power cables in tender documents. Designs to BS, DIN and ICEA are supplied when the specification calls for them.
- High water tables and monsoon conditions make armour and moisture barriers a routine requirement on directly buried cable routes.
- Utilities and EPC contractors commonly require type-test reports and routine-test certificates with each lot, and third-party inspection before shipment.
