Scope
Voltage range: 3.6/6 kV to 26/35 kV
This family covers medium voltage distribution: utility feeders and substation connections, industrial incomers, renewable collection networks, and mining or petrochemical distribution above 1 kV. Work at 66 kV and above is handled separately, because it is engineered for the project rather than selected from a table.
Seven voltage classes are documented — 3.6/6, 6/10, 8.7/15, 12/20, 18/30, 21/35 and 26/35 kV — each available unarmoured, single-core armoured or three-core armoured, twenty-one constructions in total.
Insulation thickness, screen construction and armour are set by the voltage class, so quoting starts from the system voltage rather than from the cross-section.
Key characteristics
Twenty-one constructions covering all seven voltage classes, each published with full dimensional and electrical data.
Single-core and three-core designs; cross-sections from 25 mm² to 1200 mm².
Every construction carries semi-conducting conductor and insulation screens with a copper tape metallic screen over them — coded CTS in the construction string. The screen is what you earth, and its fault-current duty is part of the specification.
Armour follows the core count: aluminium wire or stainless steel tape for single-core, galvanized steel wire or galvanized steel tape for three-core.
FR-PVC sheathing is available on the same constructions where the project calls for flame-retardant oversheaths.

Each size counted above carries its own dimensional and electrical figures in
the tables further down this page. Intermediate sizes are manufactured to order.
Construction
Each entry is identified three ways: an international description,
a construction code naming the material build-up, and a national
type designation given for cross-reference only. Read the code
string left to right — conductor, insulation, then screening,
armour and sheath where fitted.
Single-core construction, cut to show the layer order: conductor, insulation, metallic screen and oversheath. Multi-core and armoured builds of this family follow the same order — send us the application and we will confirm the build.
Product photographs
Photographs of builds from this family — the screened core assembly and the sheath, on both three-core and single-core builds. Voltage class, core count, screening and armouring follow the specification of each order; the data sheet for your build is issued with the quotation.
Three cores cut back from the printed black sheath, over green bedding tape.
Sheath and bedding peeled back — copper tape over each core, identification bands on them.
The three cores on end, each wrapped in copper tape over its insulation.
Cut away through the sheath, the copper tape screen and the cores underneath.
Single core, cut back to the copper tape screen over the light layer.
Single core seen end-on — conductor, the layers over it, and the sheath.

On current ratings. The in-air and in-soil values in the
tables above are catalogue figures for the construction listed. The
rating available to your circuit depends on how it is installed —
installation method, ambient temperature, soil thermal resistivity,
burial depth and grouping. Send us your installation conditions and we
will rate the cable against them.
How we publish data →
Type designations by region
Buyers search for a supplier by the designation their own market uses.
The codes listed against each construction above are the designations
this family is ordered under in China; each is given for cross-reference
only, and is published only where a supporting reference exists.
Type designations are given for cross-reference, so a specification written to IEC, GB, EN, DIN VDE, BS or GOST finds the right construction. Each designation is defined by the standard named beside it. Construction, standard edition and approval route are confirmed against your specification before an order is placed.
To quote we need
Send what you have of the following — a partial enquiry still lets us
start, and we will tell you which answers are missing.
System voltage (Uo/U) and the neutral earthing arrangement
Conductor cross-section and design current
Single-core or three-core, and the armour required
Prospective earth-fault current and its duration, where the screen has to be sized
Installation route and conditions for the current rating
The standard you work to, the quantity and the drum lengths
