Publishing basis
How we publish data
Everything on this site is traceable to a document — a catalogue, a selection sheet, a certificate or a contract. This page sets out what each kind of figure covers. Last updated 2026-10-12.
Where each figure comes from
- Product dimensions and weights
- Taken from the current Shenghua Cable catalogue and from our selection sheets. Every data table names the source it was taken from, and the values apply to the construction listed against that table.
- Current ratings
- Catalogue values for the construction given. The rating actually available to a circuit depends on how it is installed — installation method, ambient temperature, soil thermal resistivity, burial depth and grouping. Send us the installation conditions and we will rate the cable against them, rather than leave you to correct a table figure.
- Type designations and standards
- Designations are given for cross-reference, so that a specification written to IEC, GB, EN, DIN VDE, BS or GOST finds the right construction. Each designation is defined by the standard named beside it. Construction, standard edition and approval route are confirmed against your specification before an order is placed.
- Certificates and approvals
- Listed only where a document is held on file, with the issuing body named as printed on the certificate. Where a standard is met but no certificate is held, we say so — “complies with” rather than “certified to”. Rankings published by commercial and industry bodies are shown as what they are: editorial listings, not certifications.
- Export record
- Derived from the company export record for 2011–2023: 255 orders attributed to 56 countries and territories, with 8 further orders recorded without a confirmed destination and therefore kept out of the country counts. It is a record of shipments, not the complete order book. Contract values are commercial information and are not disclosed order by order.
- Project records
- Each project record carries the type of document behind it — contract, CCPIT-certified commercial invoice or contract annex. Quantities are published only where the document states them. Photographs used on the project pages are illustrative and labelled as such; none is presented as a photograph of a listed project.
What we do not do
- We do not publish a figure we cannot point to a source for.
- We do not round a rating up to make it look better.
- We do not call a product certified when only a test report or an internal record exists.
- We do not present a stock photograph as a picture of a listed project, or someone else's project as ours.
If something here is wrong
Tell us which page and which figure. We check it against the source document and, where a correction changes a rating you have already been given, we tell you directly. That is the point of keeping the sources named.
