Mining

Mining loads are mobile, abrasive and frequently wet: cables are dragged over rock, run on reeling drums and re-terminated in the field. Downtime costs far more than the cable itself, so the specification is driven by mechanical duty — flexibility, abrasion and cut resistance, and behaviour under repeated reeling — before it is driven by electrical rating.
