Scope
Voltage range: 1 kV and 10 kV insulated; bare conductors to the line voltage
This family covers two different things that hang on the same poles: insulated overhead cable for low and medium voltage distribution lines, and bare conductor for distribution and transmission spans. Insulated cable carries its own insulation and is used where clearance, vegetation or theft constrain the line. Bare conductor relies on air clearance, and is chosen on strength-to-weight ratio and span length.
Aluminium and steel-reinforced aluminium are used rather than copper for most of this family, because weight and cost decide these lines. Copper-conductor insulated 10 kV constructions are documented where the project specifies them.
Key characteristics
- Insulated types documented at 1 kV (JKLYJ) and 10 kV (JKYJ-10 in copper, JKLGYJ-10 on ACSR conductor).
- Bare conductors: all-aluminium (LJ), aluminium conductor steel reinforced (LGJ, JL/G1A, JLHA2/G1A), and a carbon fibre composite core conductor to GB/T 32502-2018 for long spans where sag governs the design.
- Cross-sections from 10 mm² to 630 mm², published with calculated breaking load alongside resistance and current rating — on these lines the mechanical figure sets the span, not the electrical one.
- Tables give conductor construction as the number and diameter of wires, together with overall diameter, unit mass and DC resistance at 20 °C.
Size range at a glance
Each size counted above carries its own dimensional and electrical figures in
the tables further down this page. Intermediate sizes are manufactured to order.
Construction
Each entry is identified three ways: an international description,
a construction code naming the material build-up, and a national
type designation given for cross-reference only. Read the code
string left to right — conductor, insulation, then screening,
armour and sheath where fitted.

On current ratings. The in-air and in-soil values in the
tables above are catalogue figures for the construction listed. The
rating available to your circuit depends on how it is installed —
installation method, ambient temperature, soil thermal resistivity,
burial depth and grouping. Send us your installation conditions and we
will rate the cable against them.

Type designations by region
Buyers search for a supplier by the designation their own market uses.
The codes listed against each construction above are the designations
this family is ordered under in China; each is given for cross-reference
only, and is published only where a supporting reference exists.
Type designations are given for cross-reference, so a specification written to IEC, GB, EN, DIN VDE, BS or GOST finds the right construction. Each designation is defined by the standard named beside it. Construction, standard edition and approval route are confirmed against your specification before an order is placed.
To quote we need
Send what you have of the following — a partial enquiry still lets us
start, and we will tell you which answers are missing.
- Line voltage and whether the conductor is bare or insulated
- Conductor material and cross-section
- Span length, tensioning or design conditions for the line
- The standard you work to, the quantity and the drum lengths
