EAC Certificate Power Cable CU/XLPE/STA/LSZH(FR.A/B/C) 

Application

The STA (Steel Tape Armour) versions are suitable for indoor/outdoor fixed installation, including direct burial, cable ducts, and wet/damp environments (e.g., industrial plants, petroleum refineries, and power distribution systems). Designed for low-voltage power transmission (0.6/1kV) in TN-S or TT earthing systems, ideal for connecting electrical equipment, motors, and distribution panels in harsh industrial settings requiring flame retardancy (FR.A/B/C) and low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) emission for enhanced fire safety.

Construction

Conductor:
Annealed copper, multistranded (Class 2 per IEC 60228), cross-section: 4×50mm² (4 cores, 50mm² each), tinned copper optional for corrosion resistance.

Insulation:
XLPE (Cross-linked Polyethylene) per IEC 60502-1, rated temperature 90°C continuous operation, thickness optimized for 0.6/1kV voltage grade (minimum 0.8mm).

Armour:
STA (Steel Tape Armour) – double-layer galvanized steel tape, thickness 0.2mm, overlap rate ≥25% for mechanical protection against impact and crushing.

Binder Tape:
PETP (Polyethylene Terephthalate) transparent tape, applied over insulated cores to secure lay-up.

Outer Sheath:
LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) with FR.A/B/C flame retardant rating:

• FR.A: Vertical flame test per IEC 60332-1-2

• FR.B: Bunched cable flame test per IEC 60332-3-22

• FR.C: Fire propagation resistance per IEC 60332-3-24
  Sheath colour: Black (standard) or Grey (customizable).
