Manufacturing

Annual production capacity is documented at 1.1 million km, recorded from the 2026 company catalogue.

Production runs on the group's own equipment. The stages below follow the order they run on the production floor — conductor stranding, insulation extrusion, cross-linking, laying-up, screening and armouring, sheathing and coiling, followed by the conductor resistance and dimensional tests carried out on finished cable.

Production Line

Ten stages in process order

Photographed on the group's own production floor and arranged in process order — conductor stranding and insulation extrusion, cross-linking, laying-up, screening and armouring, sheathing and coiling, followed by the conductor resistance and dimensional tests each order passes before dispatch.

  1. Step 01

    Conductor stranding

Wires are paid off from bobbins and stranded into the conductor.

  2. Step 02

    Insulation extrusion

Insulation compound is extruded over the stranded conductor.

  3. Step 03

    Cross-linking

The extruded insulation is cross-linked in a continuous catenary line, which raises the maximum conductor temperature the cable can carry.

  4. Step 04

    Laying-up

Insulated cores are laid up into the cable core.

  5. Step 05

    Screening and armouring

Screening and armouring are applied where the design calls for them.

  6. Step 06

    Sheathing

Sheathing compound is extruded over the cable core.

  7. Step 07

    Coiling onto drums

Finished cable is coiled onto delivery drums.

  8. Step 08

    Conductor resistance testing

Conductor resistance is measured on finished cable.

  9. Step 09

    Dimensional inspection

Insulation and sheath thickness are measured on a projector.

  10. Step 10

    Packing and dispatch

Cable is stored on steel-wooden drums before dispatch.
